    Socio-economic performance high on agenda at 16th NA’s first session

    The 16th National Assembly is scheduled to hear proposals and verification reports on the draft revised Law on Civil Status, the draft Laws on amendments and supplementations to the Law on Notarisation and the Law on Legal Aid; and the draft amended Law on Access to Information on April 9.

    At its first session, the 16th National Assembly adopted a resolution electing Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, as Prime Minister of Vietnam. The National Assembly voted to approve the resolutions on the appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other members of the Government for the 2026-2031 term.

    PM chairs Government’s first session on lawmaking in September

    PM Chinh said the Government must tackle regulatory “bottlenecks” in 2025, as required under the Politburo’s Resolution 66/NQ-TW, which sets an economic growth target of 8.3% 8.5% next year and double-digit expansion in subsequent years.
