At its first session on April 8, the 16th National Assembly adopted a resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint six Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026-2031 term.
The 16th National Assembly is scheduled to hear proposals and verification reports on the draft revised Law on Civil Status, the draft Laws on amendments and supplementations to the Law on Notarisation and the Law on Legal Aid; and the draft amended Law on Access to Information on April 9.
At its first session, the 16th National Assembly adopted a resolution electing Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, as Prime Minister of Vietnam. The National Assembly voted to approve the resolutions on the appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other members of the Government for the 2026-2031 term.
A central focus will be decisions on the organisational structure and the election and approval of high-ranking personnel within the state apparatus - matters of critical importance to the effectiveness of governance throughout the term.
Today, the 16th National Assembly (NA) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam convenes its first session a session of particularly important significance, marking the beginning of a new term for the highest representative body of the People and the highest State authority of our country.
The 16th NA's first session, to be divided into two phases, is scheduled to open on April 6 and close on April 25.
